Pride Weekend with SMYRC!
Portland Pride 2010 is upon us!
Saturday, June 19th
It’s the first annual Gayest Day of the Year Bike Ride, a neighborhood bike ride and community celebration! This event is free!
Join us for donuts and ice cream and snacks and music and performers and glitter and fun. Bike decorating starts at noon, the ride starts around one. Ice cream social at the QCenter around 2ish! You don’t need to have a bike to attend! All forms of non-motor transportation welcomed, as well as folks who just want to cheer the ride on from the sidelines.
Then, stick around for regular drop in from 4pm-9pm where we’ll be making signs and banners to carry with us in the Pride Parade on Sunday.
Sunday, June 20th
Parade Day! March with SMYRC and show Portland your pride!
Meet us at the Northwest Park Blocks on NW 13th between Flanders and Everett. Meet up beween 9am and 11am. The parade kicks off at 11:30 and we’ll be dancin’ it up in the streets all the way to Pride Fest on the Waterfront. Once there, don’t forget to stop by the SMYRC booth and the Teen Oasis booth (a youth run, youth only booth with games, free food, safer sex supplies and more!) And cheer on your friends on the Cafe Stage from 5-6pm for our SMYRC youth open mic. There are still some slots available if you’d like to perform.
So much to do! More queerfabulous fun than you can shake a glitter stick at! Come by drop in Friday and Saturday and help us get ready for the excitement by making SMYRC buttons, screenprinting t-shirts, and making signs and banners!
See you this weekend!
