SMYRC honors and supports the power of LGBTQ youth to change the world.

This Weekend: At SMYRC and beyond!

It’s that Open Mic time of the month again! Get ready to perform your newest drag number, song, poem, puppet show, etc at SMYRC, this Friday, August 27th. Sign up starts at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.

And don’t forget about our monthly Writing Group with amazing SMYRC volunteer Aleks (founder of Q Poetry) at 6pm. Maybe you’ll end up with a piece to read for Open Mic!

Want something to do before Open Mic on Friday or performance nights not your jam? Go to the new and improved Tuff Luck Deli (a trans owned and community run coffeeshop) for their grand opening at their new space and a Trans Positive Art Show (with amazing art from Portland’s queer communities, including SMYRC youth!) Friday, August 27th from 5pm-midnight. 441 N. Killingsworth.

And next week at SMYRC come participate in our “Not Back To School” cleaning and re-organization day on September 1st. Regular drop in will be closed (so that means no regular groups, computer access, salon time, kitchen access, etc.) but everyone is welcome to come and help refresh the drop in center. Food and beverages will be provided.
